On-Demand:
Guest Advocate (Cashier), General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Food and Beverage, Style (T0958).

Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial: $15.00 USD per hour.

As an On-Demand Team Member (TM), you can work as much or as little as you like and your schedule may vary based on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those seeking a personalized work schedule and may not be included on the posted weekly schedule. You can create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.

Reliable and prompt attendance is necessary when you choose to pick up a shift. You are expected to respond to contact attempts to confirm interest in working shifts. If you do not respond, employment may be terminated. If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be administratively terminated. You will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule.

The myTime app is used to pick up shifts after training.

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services, knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

What the role provides in terms of skills and experience includes:

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns
  • Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services
Typical Day / Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs when assistance is needed.
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to resolve issues and improve guest experience.
  • Thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target.
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company practices.
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Know and discuss Target Loyalty benefits and assist with enrollment or activation as needed; be familiar with fulfillment services and how to direct guests to enroll, activate and use them.
  • Understand and demonstrate how to use Wallet and other features within the Target App.
  • Handle returns by following prompts and collaborating with leadership as needed to resolve guest issues per policy.
  • De-escalate situations with leadership support as needed to restore the guest shopping experience.
  • Deliver easy and accurate service to all Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours while remaining available to guests.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
  • Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders and DU Returns; comply with applicable laws regarding beverages where relevant.
  • Support Cash Office processes as needed, including management of cash systems.
  • All other duties based on business needs.
