Overview

Join the RAC as a Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division. You’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are—driveways, office car parks, and beyond. You’ll work with independence, supported by a provided RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit. We’re looking for practical mechanics who value progress powered by people and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver first-class vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs at customer locations.
  • Provide strong customer conversations, advice, and representation of the RAC with pride.
  • Manage stock, reporting, and maintain clear, ongoing communication with customers.
  • Think on your feet to determine the right approach for each customer and situation.
  • Travel to customer sites with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years’ hands-on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
  • A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Location and Compensation
  • Bournemouth, Dorset – Up to £50k per annum (Full Time).
  • A competitive base salary of £38,625, with on-target earnings up to £50,000.
  • Guaranteed overtime option to increase base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
  • 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30am–5pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
