RSPCA Bournemouth, New Forest and District Branch CIO is an independent charity affiliated to the RSPCA. We run a vet clinic in Bournemouth.
So if you love animals, are interested in their welfare, AND have experience in raising the profile of small charities, we need you!
What difference will you make?
Sustainability for the charity is absolutely critical - sad to say, many people who could benefit from our work still don't know we exist.
A targeted campaign across social media, focussing on our business area of Bournemouth, Christchurch and the New Forest, would ensure that we reach those who need us.
Currently, our only website is a page within the RSPCA (National) website, but perhaps our own simple website would help.
Your work would also assist the fundraising efforts in ensuring that that work has maximum possible exposure across the area.
What are we looking for?
A Trustee experienced in marketing would have experience in developing and implementing campaigns to promote the charity’s services, handling digital/social media, content creation, events, and PR.
Key Responsibilities Campaign Management- Plan, execute, and monitor online and offline marketing campaigns (digital ads, email, social media, print).
- Write and proofread copy, develop creative content (blogs, videos, press releases), and manage website content.
- Manage social media channels.
- Analyze consumer behavior, competitor activity, and market trends to identify opportunities.
- Evaluate campaign success using metrics and report on performance to the rest of the board of Trustees.
You’ll need the time to dedicate to this role as a Trustee - which is, of course, unpaid.
Hybrid
What will you be doing? Our Clinic provides subsidised vet care for people on income-related benefits, and historically runs at a loss, which has been mitigated by legacies and the occasional grant.
The Marketing/Awareness role would work with the rest of the Trustees to run our social media, possibly work on a simple website for the charity, and exploit every opportunity to raise our profile to ensure the people who need our services know where we are.
This is absolutely critical to keeping the organisation running in the longer term, and if you have this kind of marketing experience, you could have a major impact on the charity as a whole.
Applicants must be based within a reasonable distance of our operating area, namely, Bournemouth and West Hampshire, and able to attend at least some Board meetings in Bournemouth in person.
