The role
As a Communications Technician, you’ll be part of a specialist team supporting the ASC contract by inspecting, testing and maintaining essential communication systems used across a range of armoured fighting vehicles. It’s a hands‑on, varied and purposeful role that helps ensure our customers’ equipment is safe, functional and ready for operational use.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Inspecting and testing communication equipment, accurately documenting findings and repair requirements.
- Carrying out Level 1 repairs to a high standard, following authorised procedures.
- Identifying, ordering and preparing spare parts for repair tasks or escalation to Level 2 work.
- Responding to breakdowns during working hours and when rostered for out‑of‑hours support.
- Operating and maintaining vehicles within your licence and qualification limits.
This is a full‑time, permanent, onsite position based at Bovington, Wareham working Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays.
Essential experience of the Communications Technician:
- Physically fit to carry out manual handling tasks.
- Aged 21 or over (vehicle insurance requirement).
Qualifications for the Communications Technician:
Full B‑Class Driving Licence.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
