Overview
Our inpatient CAMHS is expanding to include a brand-new purpose-built 8-bed High Intensity Environment/PICU on Alumhurst Road, Bournemouth. We are seeking an established pharmacist, looking to specialise in children and adolescent mental health.
As the pharmacist, you will be responsible for medicines optimisation and development of the CAMHS High Intensity Environment Pharmacy service. You will provide specialist Mental Health advice/information to CAMHS patients, carers and other healthcare professionals with the support of the established Mental Health Pharmacy Team. You will also support and assist in developing medicines management services in line with national standards, ensuring the safe and cost-effective use of medicines.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development, implementation and training of CAMHS staff on issues around medicines optimisation and medicines safety, participating in medicines management initiatives.
The pharmacist role is a part-time weekday post of 18.75 hours per week. We would be flexible with how these hours are met, including condensed hours. Within this role, you will have opportunities for training and personal development by attending relevant courses, study days, etc.

The role will be based in the Adolescent In-patient Unit, providing ward/clinical pharmacy services, (advise on drug choice and dose, prescribing policy, interactions, side-effects, medicines legislation, storage, supply, etc.), to wards/units of the Trust (including community clinics) as required.
You will have responsibility for the Controlled Drug stock control on all allocated wards/units every 3 months in line with Trust Policy.
You will be responsible for maintaining appropriate documentation and records e.g. interventions/contribution monitoring, outcome data.
You will compile a drug history where possible from patients admitted to Trust services to ensure continuity of their medication and records relevant information to facilitate the discharge process.
You will produce, review and update pharmaceutical care plans depending on clinical response, results of investigations and adverse effects.
The role will allow you to participate in the General Pharmaceutical Councils Continuous Professional Development programme and you will be responsible for keeping up to date with current pharmaceutical issues.
You will undertake audit (pharmaceutical or clinical) in line with the Trust Audit Plan, and as agreed by the Lead Pharmacist(s).
You will provide and analyse inpatient and outpatient financial data monthly and to make recommendations as appropriate, highlighting any inconsistencies and suggest initiatives to help reduce expenditure.

- To comply with pharmacy procedures and strive to meet the quality of standards set in the pharmacy service.
- To represent the department to a high professional standard in conduct, manner and appearance, and to uphold the values of the Trust.
- To participate in Bank holiday, weekend working and on-call rotas and undertake any other duties that may be required within the framework of the post.
- To attend meetings, and represent the Trust on Committees/Groups, as required.
- The post holder may be required to concentrate for sustained periods, e.g. when compiling complex financial reports.
