The pay range for this role is £74,454 – £89,081 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues). Two positions are available:
Town Clerk and Responsible Finance Officer (RFO).
We are looking to appoint two highly motivated and forward‑thinking Town Clerks and RFOs to help build and shape the governance, culture and delivery of high‑quality local services for Bournemouth Town Council and Poole Town Council, which will be established on 1 April 2026 following a community governance review.
Responsibilities and expectations- Manage the Council’s statutory requirements.
- Set standards, modernise processes and create a council that is trusted, responsive and ambitious.
- Provide senior leadership within a public service, holding a CiLCA qualification.
- Communicate effectively, demonstrate strong leadership skills, commitment to public service and capacity to think strategically and forge strong partnerships in the community.
- Operate under national terms and conditions for clerks, with eligibility for the local government pension scheme.
- Senior leadership experience in a public service.
- CiLCA qualification.
- Excellent communication skills with strategic thinking and partnership building.
Salary: £74,454 – £89,081 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues).

Bournemouth and Poole – vibrant coastal towns on the South Coast of England.
