PERSONAL TAX ADVISOR Required (Part Time hours, Self Starter, Flexible Hours)
REED Practice (Bournemouth) are supporting an established Accountancy Practice in Bournemouth in the search for a Personal Tax Advisor, ideal for an experienced self starter, familiar managing a portfolio of clients and able to work on your own initiative.
You'll be joining a collaborative, small existing team, under the leadership of the established Director. The business is evolving quickly and this role has been newly created to provide a Tax Compliance service to existing clients. Personal Tax Accountant
Bournemouth

Flexible hours / Days
£30,000-£40,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide expert advice, prepare personal tax returns, and support clients in navigating complex tax regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to build trusted relationships with individuals from diverse financial backgrounds.
Tax Compliance & Preparation
- Prepare and file Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, including high-net-worth clients, sole traders, landlords, and company directors.
- Ensure accurate reporting of income, expenses, and allowances in compliance with HMRC guidelines.
- Review and analyse client records to identify tax-saving opportunities.
Tax Advisory & Planning
- Provide proactive advice on personal tax matters such as income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and residency rules.
- Support clients with tax planning strategies to minimise liabilities and optimise personal finances.
- Interpret changes in tax legislation and advise clients accordingly.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for client tax queries and correspondence with HMRC.
- Build strong, long-term relationships by offering clear, friendly, and professional guidance.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines are met and service levels are exceeded.
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and organised client files, ensuring all documentation is up to date.
- Respond to HMRC enquiries and assist with investigations when required.
- Ensure all work complies with internal procedures, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in personal tax or a similar advisory role.
- Strong understanding of UK tax legislation and Self-Assessment processes.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently.
Desirable
- ATT or CTA qualification (or working towards one).
- Experience with tax software such as Digita, CCH, Iris, or similar.
- Prior experience within an accountancy or advisory practice.
