Volunteer Support Worker – Made My Way:
The Girls Group (Southbourne)
This opportunity is a shared external opportunity, you can join and log hours as normal but it is provided by a different organisation
We’re looking for a warm, reliable volunteer to support our calm, low-demand after-school group for neurodivergent teen girls. The group focuses on gentle arts and crafts, building friendships and practising communication in a relaxed, supportive space. Currently we are term-time only.
You’ll help set up, support the girls during activities, encourage conversation, and help tidy up afterwards. You’ll also provide occasional paid sickness cover for the Lead Facilitator.
Weekly availability is preferred, but occasional volunteers are also welcome. If you’re not free on Wednesdays, we’d still love to hear from you — we hope to expand to new groups soon.
Skills You'll Need
Experience with children/teens, neurodiversity or SEND is ideal. An interest in creative activities is helpful, but you don’t need to be an artist. Reliability and safeguarding awareness and willingness to complete a DBS check are essential.
