Position: Teacher of Media Studies (full time/part time)

Overview

Required for Easter 2026 or September 2026. Salary MPS/UPS £32,916 - £51,048. We want to appoint a talented, dynamic and innovative Teacher of Media, available from Easter 2026 or September 2026. The department is well supported in terms of resources and opportunities for staff development. Media is taught at all Key Stages and is a popular subject at A Level. As a classroom teacher, you will be supported by an experienced Head of Department.

Full time hours are available, though part time will be considered (min 0.8). The ability to teach English would be preferable or another subject.

Teaching and learning are high on the agenda at The Bourne Academy, and staff are encouraged to develop, experiment and reflect on their practice. Access to high-quality in-house CPD and the opportunity to gain a bursary towards further studies is available. Outstanding ECT support is available for those new to the teaching profession. Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Media across appropriate key stages.
  • Work with the Head of Department to support and develop the Media curriculum and department resources.
  • Support all students to achieve their best, in line with the academy’s inclusive approach.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice; access in-house CPD and bursary opportunities.
  • Provide outstanding support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) where applicable.
  • Flexibility in hours: full-time available; part-time considered (min 0.8). Ability to teach English or another subject is preferable.
Qualifications and criteria
  • Qualified to teach Media (and other relevant subjects as applicable).
  • Strong classroom practice and willingness to contribute to department development.
  • Post subject to enhanced DBS checks.
