Position Overview

The Emergency Medicine team at UHD has extensive experience supporting doctors through the CESR programme. Successful candidates may participate in this programme if desired.

Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals have merged into UHD. At present there is an Emergency Department at both Poole and Bournemouth sites, with Royal Bournemouth Hospital (RBH) being the designated site for PCI and stroke thrombolysis, and Poole being the designated Major Trauma Unit as well as in‑patient paediatric services. The Trauma Unit status will move across to Bournemouth and the ED will move into a new state‑of‑the‑art department in the Beach Building at the end of 2024, alongside Paediatrics, Critical Care and Maternity.

  • Take part in the middle tier rota, covering 24 hours, seven days a week.
  • Undertake professional development and participate in audit, ensuring all clinical governance areas are met.

  • Any work undertaken outside standard hours/PA's will attract remuneration in line with the respective NHS Medical and Dental Terms and Conditions of Service.
