Our headline campaign, Get Dorset Cooking, simply aims to get more people cooking!

We are looking for a volunteer communications and content creator to support this 6 month project.

If you like food and cooking then this project is for you!

What difference will you make?

This is a real opportunity to quickly have a positive impact on a highly public campaign that can transform lives across Dorset and BCP.

You will gain significant real life experience, working with a team of experienced communicators.

You will have your input and say on the direction of the project and take full control of some elements of the project.

As a short term project, this is a great opportunity to build your cv and contacts.

What are we looking for?
  • Enthusiasm and motivation for cooking and making a change in people's lives.
  • Experience in communications, social media and content creation to a high level of accuracy.
  • A creative approach to reaching audiences with key messages
  • Clear, accurate and friendly writing style
  • Ideally have experience at creating video content, editing and producing short films to support the campaign.
  • Access to your IT facilities that are able to be used for this purpose.
  • Its not essential that you are in the Bournemouth area, but would be really helpful on occasion.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for an experienced communicator and creative content creator to support our campaign and make it the success that we know it can be!

The key tasks will be to work with the CEO and Comms team to:

  • Contribute to the project communications plan involving several key strands.
  • Support delivery with key tasks, including social media content creation.
  • Support our high-profile event in May 2026
  • Monitor response and activity
  • Manage public and organisation and requests
  • Maintain the website and calendar of events
  • Create regular internal reports to keep the team engaged
