Building Surveyor / Roofing Surveyor – Planned Roof Renewal Programme

Salary:
Between £42,000 and £45,000 p.a DOE
Contract Type:
Permanent | Flexible |Site based / Home based, Mileage paid from home.

We’re looking for an experienced Building Surveyor or Roofing Surveyor to lead and manage a large-scale Planned Roof Renewal Programme across the Dorset region. This is a permanent position offering a mix of site-based inspections and flexible home-working arrangements. Occasional travel may be required for one-off property projects in neighbouring areas.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out detailed roof inspections and oversee Health & Safety compliance across all housing projects

* Manage roofing contractors and lead progress meetings, reviewing KPIs and performance standards

* Undertake post and quality inspections for planned roof renewals and reactive maintenance

* Process monthly valuations, ensure financial accuracy, and maintain project data using MS Office and internal systems

* Communicate effectively with residents, contractors, and internal teams to ensure high service standards

About You

* Qualified to at least HNC level in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline

* A minimum of 6 years’ experience within roofing, building surveying, or housing maintenance projects

* Proven experience managing contractors and delivering large-scale planned works programmes

* Excellent communication, reporting, and IT skills, with proficiency in MS Excel and database systems
