The pay range for this role will be £30,024 – £33,143 (pro rata for part time colleagues).

Role PurposeJoining a small team, you will work in our Commercial Office(s) based at the Poole or Bournemouth Recycling Centres. You will be required to work at both sites on a rota basis. This position is a part‑time role of 18.5 hrs made up of full days Monday and Friday as well as a Saturday morning.
Main Responsibilities- Provide a high level of customer service to residents and commercial customers—face to face, on the phone and in writing.
- Collate and handle data relating to waste management.
- Manage financial aspects of billing, invoicing, taking payments and selling commercial waste services.
- Committed to high standards of accuracy with meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with several databases (training will be provided).
- Experience or knowledge of waste disposal is an advantage.
- Excellent communicator, strong team player, fully engaged in pursuing the Council’s purpose and values.
As part of the Strategic Development team, which manages Waste and Open Spaces, you’ll be committed to improving the environment for our residents and businesses. The Commercial Waste Officer will play an active role in a multi-skilled team and there will be opportunities to develop your own skills and contribute to the direction of the service.
