Assistant Controller

The Judge Group is seeking a Accountant with manufacturing (Costing and Distribution) experience (Food preferred) in the Bourbonnais, IL area.

This is a succession planning position and the right candidate will have a passion for learning the business to be ready to be promoted into a Controller position.

COMPENSATION: 120k

LOCATION:

This is an onsite position (Not hybrid or Remote) in the Bourbonnais, IL area

SIGN ON BONUS: 10k offered to local candidates

• 5+ years of experience in Accounting in a manufacturing environment (Food industry preferred) with at least 3+ years of costing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred
• Understanding of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls
• Costing and Distribution

• A US Citizen or a Green Card holder

• Work alongside the Plant Controller with a focus on cost management and Financial Planning and Analysis while working to learn all areas the of the operation (Manufacturing Operations, Financial Reporting, Capex, Investment Management, Budgeting, Internal Controls and Compliance, Reporting, etc.)
• FP&A - (Financial Planning and Analysis), Identify opportunities for cost reduction (Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, material usage, etc.)
• Run planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Track performance metrics and provide variance analysis
• Cost Accounting, create accurate cost accounting (Product Costing, Variance Reporting, allocation)
• Review bills of materials (BOMs)

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Accounting in a manufacturing environment (Food industry preferred) with at least 3+ years of costing experience
• Strong cost accounting experience
• Some proficiency with financial software, i.e. ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc. and strong Excel skills
