Accounting; Cost Manager ; Bourbonnais, IL

A stable and well‑established manufacturer in the greater Bourbonnais region is seeking an Accounting Manager with strong cost accounting expertise. This is a hands‑on, on‑site leadership role supporting plant operations, financial accuracy, and continuous improvement within a collaborative environment.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys being close to production activity, partnering with cross‑functional teams, and owning cost processes end‑to‑end.

• Lead daily cost accounting functions, including standard costs, variance analysis, and month‑end close
• Prepare reporting tied to production, inventory, and cost metrics
• Support key operational leaders with clear, actionable financial insights
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, and cycle count processes
• Strengthen internal controls and streamline accounting workflows
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
• Potential oversight or mentorship of junior accounting staff

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Cost accounting experience required (manufacturing preferred)
• Strong understanding of inventory, standard costing, and production reporting
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems
• Analytical problem‑solver with strong communication skills
• Professional, team‑oriented setting with strong collaboration between finance and operations
