• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

• Visible and actively greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions through the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the POS system, handling various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and complex loyalty offers.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, controlling loss honestly and effectively.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of repairs.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering product questions.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
