Medical Assistant Family Medicine

A Medical Assistant is accountable for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic needs, and communicating clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.

36 hours/week, Full Time. Clinic hours:
Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑6:00 pm. Schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, with a half‑day Tuesday or Thursday.

• Providing patient care:
  Under the direction of the clinician, assist the provider to gather information related to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Effective communication:
  Communicate with patients seeking care through telephone and in‑person interactions.
• Team collaboration:
  Work with cross‑functional teams to collaborate on patient care, ensuring attention to detail and follow‑through.

• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in‑good‑standing RN/LPN license in Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, obtained prior to the start date.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients.
• Utah Only:
  If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a year‑long MA residency program.

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
• Current national MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA).

• Ongoing need to see and read information, assess patient needs, and operate monitors.
• Frequent verbal communication with patients and providers, and rapid understanding of spoken information.
• Manual dexterity for complex equipment and frequent computer use.
• Expected to lift, carry, and transfer patients, handle supplies up to heavy weights.
• Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, navigate crowded environments, and push/pull equipment.
• May be expected to stand for extended periods.
• For roles requiring driving: expected to drive a vehicle, requiring sight, reading signs, and traffic signals.

Bountiful Clinic – Bountiful, Utah.

36 scheduled weekly hours.

Hourly range: $19.87 – $28.31, dependent on experience.
