$5,869 - $7,159 Monthly

$70,428 - $85,908 Annually

Jail Maintenance Worker performs skilled technical maintenance and major repair work on the plumbing, electrical systems, and security systems to include detention locks and CCTV equipment within the corrections facility under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month.

  • Performs repairs and maintenance on the Corrections Facility and equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems, minor remodeling projects and carpentry work.
  • Assists with project planning, estimates, needed materials, time and labor, and ensures that appropriate materials, tools, and equipment are available and used properly.
  • Assigns and monitors work to assure efficient workflow.
  • Assists in keeping premises in an orderly condition.
  • Directs and trains less experienced personnel in the construction and maintenance trades.
  • Operates and performs maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, diagrams, and engineering sketches.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Must be willing to participate in on-call rotation.
  • High school graduate or equivalent. Four years of maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's license.

    Thorough knowledge of the use of materials, equipment, and procedures necessary for building and grounds maintenance. Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions common to building and grounds maintenance. Skilled in the operation of tools and equipment required by the position. Preferred experience in the commercial maintenance field, repair of food service and laundry equipment. Must possess solid skills in plumbing, electrical and carpentry.

  • Vision - Dual vision is not required. Single eye correctable vision is acceptable. Minimum peripheral vision for single vision is 90 on the ear side and 70 on the nose side.
  • Hearing - Dual hearing is required. When tested by use of an audiometric device, does not have an average hearing loss in the better ear greater than 40 decibels at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without a hearing aid when the audiometric device is calibrated to American National Standard.
