Reporting to the Director, Cell Biology, the Associate Scientist will be responsible for the development and execution of in‑vitro functional and bioanalytical assays that support screening and characterization of Viridian’s pipeline of novel therapeutics and potential clinical candidates.

This is a lab‑based position located in Viridian’s Boulder, CO facility. Our lab‑based employees are required to work in the office five (5) days a week.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
  • Establish and perform in‑vitro and ex‑vivo cell‑based assays to support discovery lead identification, characterization and mechanism‑of‑action of clinical candidates
  • Contribute to data analysis, visualization, and interpretation of experimental findings
  • Read and interpret scientific literature including extraction and adaptation of appropriate experimental protocols.
  • Maintain scientific documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks and internal study reports and clearly present data/strategy to scientists and management in PowerPoint presentations
  • Manage multiple projects on tight timelines
Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years of experience or Master’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience, preferably in cellular biology and/or antibody drug development
  • A solid background of assay development for biochemical and cellular assays to support lead discovery and characterization including plate‑based assays (ELISA, MSD, etc.), signal transduction assays, multi‑color flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, western blots, qPCR, genetic manipulations, etc
  • Must be a team player with ability to effectively collaborate in a project‑focused, matrixed environment
  • Highly adaptable, responsive, and accountable work ethic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present results in small group settings
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards
  • Proficiency with Flow Jo, Excel, Graph Pad Prism and electronic lab notebook systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
