Position: Custodian I

Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder is hiring for 2 Custodian I roles at Wardenburg Health Center. This unit is responsible for cleaning the facilities and providing a safe and healthy environment for staff and patients. The position will provide custodial services for the Health Center by cleaning and disinfecting doctor's offices, rooms, common areas, and public restrooms. Duties include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, reporting unsafe conditions, completing a variety of custodial tasks as they arise, and being responsible for opening and locking doors in the building.

Who We Are

Medical Operations & Compliance staff in Student Life understand and are committed to the unique health concerns of our student population, making us an unparalleled source of advocacy for student wellness at CU Boulder! The Wardenburg Medical Clinic provides a wide range of health care services for students including primary care for illnesses and injuries, chronic conditions, physicals, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.

Responsibilities

Clean and Disinfect

  • Cleans and disinfects facilities, including toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, halls, windows, mirrors, telephones, water fountains, and trash containers. Maintains cleanliness in key areas such as medical provider offices, restrooms, waiting areas, front desks, and physical therapy spaces, refilling paper and soap dispensers, and delivering linens.

Stairs, Open and Close the Building

  • Sweeps, mops, and vacuums stairways; ensures building accessibility by unlocking all exterior doors throughout the facility.

Floors & Carpets

  • Strips, buffs, and waxes floors to maintain cleanliness, appearance, and safety standards.
  • Shampoos all carpeted floors, including office chairs, at least twice a year or as needed to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as directed to support overall maintenance and operational needs.
Shift Details
  • Morning Shift: 6 am – 11 am
  • Evening shift: 5 pm - 10 pm

The pay rate for this 60% part‑time role is $19.16 per hour (equal to $23,911.68 annually).

Six months of relevant work experience.
