Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire an Automotive & Heavy Equipment Technician II
. The Automotive & Heavy Equipment Technician II is the journey level classification in the equipment technician series, performing a variety of skilled duties in the maintenance and repair of light duty, medium duty, heavy trailer and truck repair.

Hours:
5201 St Vrain Road, Longmont, CO 80234. Full-time, benefits position. Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm from October through April and Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm from April through October. Under FLSA, the position is non‑exempt (eligible for overtime).
Salary Range: $60,840.00 – $74,178.00 annually.

New employees receive an 80‑hour bank of vacation at the time of hire and accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of medical leave each month (must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re‑hire date to qualify). - A high school diploma, or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in the servicing, maintaining, and repairing automotive and medium‑to‑heavy truck equipment.
- Additional related education may count towards required experience.
- Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

- Applicants must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug test.
- ASE certifications.
- EPA 609 certification.
- Working knowledge of design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of automotive equipment.
- Working knowledge of standard practices and procedures, hazards, and safety precautions of the mechanical trade.
- Skill in the use of mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
- Ability to work effectively with other employees.
