Job Overview
The Facilities Coordinator / Maintenance Technician provides onsite, hands‑on facilities support for two ambulatory surgery centers, ensuring that the physical utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, domestic hot water, reverse osmosis systems, DI systems, fire life safety systems, operating rooms, and support spaces) remain safe, functional, compliant, and survey‑ready. This role serves as the first‑line responder to facilities‑related issues, supports preventive maintenance, and inspection activities under the direction of the Facilities Manager.

Requirements Essential Duties- Perform daily rounds of operating rooms, sterile processing, patient care, mechanical spaces, and common areas that support both surgery centers
- Monitor and respond to environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, and pressure relationships.
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine facility issues impacting operations.
- Serve as onsite point of contact for facilities issues during surgical hours.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and assist with PM tracking and documentation.
- Perform minor repairs (fixtures, doors, lighting, casework, etc.) within scope.
- Coordinate and escort vendors onsite and communicate findings to the Facilities Manager.
- Assist with maintaining compliance documentation related to life safety, utilities, and environmental monitoring.
- Respond to urgent facilities issues and support downtime or contingency procedures.
- Document work orders, maintenance activities, and inventory usage.
- Support minor capital projects and space refreshes as directed.
- Some weekend and after hours work required
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required.
- Technical training or coursework related to facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or building systems preferred.
- Two to four years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or building operations required.
- Experience in healthcare, ambulatory surgery center (ASC), or hospital environments preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites required.
- Commercial HVAC technician with Universal EPA certification preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards affecting healthcare facilities (The Joint Commission and AAAHC) preferred.
- Some weekend and after-hours work may be required.
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical operations.
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring requirements in healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards affecting ambulatory surgery centers.
- Skill in troubleshooting and resolving facility‑related issues efficiently.
- Skill in communication and coordination with vendors and clinical staff.
- Skill in maintaining accurate documentation and compliance records.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks effectively.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent or emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain a professional presence while supporting clinical operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders as needed.
- Occasional after‑hours or emergency response availability.
