Systems Engineer, Secret

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and infrastructure in a secure environment. This role requires a seasoned professional who can lead systems architecture decisions, ensure security compliance, and deliver robust, scalable solutions that support mission-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-level systems and infrastructure solutions
• Develop system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation
• Lead system integration efforts across multiple platforms and technologies
• Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and network solutions
• Ensure systems meet performance, scalability, and security requirements

Security Implementation

• Implement and maintain security controls and compliance frameworks
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses
• Design secure system architectures following industry best practices
• Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulations
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on threat mitigation strategies

Infrastructure Management

• Oversee system deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities
• Manage server, network, and storage infrastructure components
• Implement monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
• Optimize system performance and resource utilization
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers

Technical Leadership

• Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
• Drive technology adoption and modernization initiatives
• Establish engineering standards and best practices
• Support technical decision-making for complex system challenges

Project Management

• Manage system engineering projects from conception to deployment
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including developers, security, and operations
• Develop project timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation plans
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and customer requirements
• Communicate project status and technical risks to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure design, or related roles
• Minimum 7 years of experience with enterprise systems and security implementations
• Experience with complex system integration and multi-platform environments

Security Clearance

• Current Secret security clearance required

Professional Certifications

• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) required
• CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) required
• Additional technical certifications preferred (CISSP concentrations, cloud certifications, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related field
• Additional security certifications (CISM, CISA, CEH, etc.)
• Experience in defense, government, or regulated industry environments
• Background in Dev Ops practices and infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with automation tools and scripting languages
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks

Salary range for the position is $165,000 - $185,000 per year. Specific compensation will be determined by several factors including experience, education, skills, and knowledge. We also offer medical/dental/vision benefits and 401k contribution.
