Join the Faculty & Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) at the University of Colorado Boulder as a Licensed Counselor and Couple and Family Specialist. The role provides individual, couple, and family counseling to university employees while embodying care, respect, and integrity. The position also focuses on services to couples and families, including parenting, and includes public speaking opportunities for psycho educational workshops and support groups.

Who We AreFSAP meets the psychological needs of university employees by providing culturally relevant counseling, advising, and educational workshops in-person, virtually, and hybrid. We are a multicultural, multidisciplinary, multi‑theoretical team that offers all services at no cost.
ResponsibilitiesWhat Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Direct Services
- Provide individual, couple, and family counseling to staff and faculty using a brief therapy framework.
- Provide crisis intervention, including suicide assessment and coordination with the campus Threat Assessment Team.
- Offer psycho educational workshops, presentations, or supportive groups on topics such as healthy communication, parenting, and caregiving for elders.
Indirect Services
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation via the electronic health record system.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and case consultation with FSAP team members.
- Provide leadership in developing FSAP’s knowledge base and presence supporting healthy couples and families for employees.
- Record client interventions and statistics with timely case notes and intake documents.
- Attend regular supervision with a clinical supervisor.
- Provide informal support to master’s‑level counseling interns.
Professional Development and Personal Growth
- Participate in department‑relevant committees.
- Engage in self‑work to identify and dismantle personal biases.
- Attend and present at professional development conferences, especially those focused on couples and families, higher education, and employee assistance programs.
- Fulfill other duties supporting the FSAP office and FSAP Director.
- This position is hybrid with a Monday–Friday schedule during regular business hours. No work on recognized holidays, weekends, or evenings unless extraordinary circumstances arise.
- Salary: $67,000–$80,000 annually, based on independent licensure and education.

- Master’s Degree in Marriage or Couples and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or related accredited program.
- Clinically licensed in Colorado (Psychologist, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or transferable to Colorado within one month of hire).
- Two years of direct clinical experience.
- Strong experience providing services to couples, families, and parents.
- Clear understanding of operating within a health and wellness support network.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Multicultural awareness and openness.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity.
- Experience with timely electronic record‑keeping.
- Experience with a broad range of clinical issues across adult populations.
- Role clarity in maintaining confidentiality while navigating dual relationships.
- Strong administrative effectiveness and organization.
- Competency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Effectiveness providing services to multicultural and historically marginalized populations.
- Experience providing EAP services to university faculty and staff.
- Knowledge of employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, leave, and discrimination/harassment.
- Fluency in languages other than English.
