What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Manage partnerships and support bilateral engagements with countries such as Canada, Japan, Korea, and Norway
  • Coordinate activities and logistics for international fisheries science meetings and engagements
  • Prepare and analyze policy documents, agendas, and reports for international meetings
  • Serve as the NMFS Marine Scientific Research Coordinator for foreign research requests
  • Maintain and develop international fisheries science websites and facilitate communication of NOAA Fisheries efforts
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, education, public administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant program experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (such as a Master’s degree and 1 year of experience)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects of moderate complexity and impact
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed

  • Experience working in international or cross‑cultural contexts
  • Knowledge of policies and programs related to U.S. living marine resources
  • Familiarity with international marine issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a diverse team environment
