Overview
Outdoor Prolink is seeking its first full-time Financial Controller for our office in Boulder, CO. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, we are looking for a motivated and experienced financial professional to lead the finance function and scale operations to support Outdoor Prolink’s growth. From month end close and compliance to forecasting and problem solving, this position is a key contributor to our future success.
Outdoor Prolink is a member-only e-commerce website for professionals working in the outdoor industry; we need you to help us continue building our financial operations to meet the fast-growing needs of our business!
As a Financial Controller, your responsibilities include:
- Leadership and accountability for finance and accounting teams.
- Managing month end close and management reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Building, monitoring, and scaling financial processes, tools, and internal processes.
- Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Maintaining accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Handling tax compliance in USA and Canada.
- Provide financial insights to the Executive Team.
- Ad hoc financial analysis (ROI, competitive analysis, etc.) as needed.
- Analyze and provide creative alternatives and recommendations for opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Identify trends, advise company, and recommend actions.
- Hands-on support of daily accounting tasks.
We think a great fit for the Financial Controller role includes most or all of the following traits and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- CPA designation or equivalent experience
- At least 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting
- 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within an internal finance or accounting department
- Proficiency in accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, etc.)
- Expertise in GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proven excellence managing a multi-state, sales, excise, income and payroll tax environment
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Experience implementing new accounting systems and tools
- Advanced skill using spreadsheets
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently with staff at all levels of the organization
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent presentation, reporting, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working closely with leadership in a fast-moving environment
- Salary: $120k – $160k
