Position: Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will be a critical strategic leader responsible for overseeing the company’s enterprise‑wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting functions. In this role, the Director develops and maintains integrated financial models, leads scenarios and sensitivity analyses, and ensures the organization has a clear and accurate view of short‑and long‑term financial performance. By delivering high‑quality insights and disciplined financial rigor, this position supports executive leadership and private equity sponsors in evaluating capital allocation decisions, assessing market and regulatory impacts, and optimizing returns across a rapidly expanding renewable‑energy portfolio.

Beyond core forecasting and reporting responsibilities, the Director of FP&A partners closely with cross‑functional teams, including development, project finance, capital markets, accounting, and operations, to enhance project‑level economics, support major financing events, and strengthen enterprise performance management. This leader plays an essential role in shaping financial strategy, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that decision‑makers have the timely, data‑driven intelligence required to scale effectively in a capital‑intensive environment.

Financial

Planning and Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasts, and long‑range financial planning.
  • Develop and maintain integrated financial models that incorporate development pipelines, project level economics, financing structures, and corporate overhead.
  • Prepare scenario analyses to assess financial impacts of market conditions, regulatory changes, and capital structure alternatives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive cash forecast reflecting construction expenditures, tax equity funding, debt schedules, and sponsor capital contributions.
Enterprise Model Analysis
  • Evaluate enterprise level returns, including IRR, NPV, and sensitivity analyses business assumptions.
  • Support tax equity, construction financing, term debt, and back leverage transactions through detailed analysis in corporate models.
  • Collaborate with development, project finance, capital markets, and operations teams to optimize project economics and corporate returns.
  • Monitor enterprise performance and identify opportunities to enhance financial returns.
Performance Management and Reporting
  • Oversee monthly financial close review, variance analysis, and KPI reporting.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track development milestones, construction progress, and operational performance.
  • Identify cost efficiency opportunities and operational improvements.
  • Implement scalable processes, systems, and tools to support organizational growth.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor a team of FP&A professionals by establishing clear expectations, providing regular coaching, and promoting skills development to support career progression.
  • Instil a continuous improvement mindset with the team and provide guidance on process improvement initiatives.
  • Foster strong working relationships across development, project finance, capital markets, operations, and accounting.
  • Promote financial discipline, data integrity, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or project finance experience.
  • Experience in private equity‑backed, renewable energy, infrastructure, or capital‑intensive industries is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and complex capital structures.
  • Strong understanding of project finance, tax equity, debt financing, and renewable energy economics.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to executives and investors.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
