At Integral, principals are business, client, and staff leaders. They are recognized internally and externally as technical and strategic authorities in one or more technical areas. They direct major technical efforts and project teams, ensuring technical excellence, alignment with contractual requirements, and compliance with the firm’s QA/QC procedures. Principals help develop the next generation of firm leaders by recruiting new talent and coaching colleagues.
Paramount to the position is successful client development for both existing and new clients, and in both existing and new services. Principals are recognized as trusted advisors to key clients, which in turn requires an in‑depth understanding of clients’ business and technical challenges. Principals generate net revenue equal to or exceeding $1.25 million per year through a combination of collaboration and individual effort.
This position may offer in‑office, remote, or hybrid opportunities based on the candidate’s location and the needs of the organization.
Responsibilities- Serve as principal‑in‑charge for complex soil, groundwater investigation and remediation projects.
- Serve as a consulting and/or testifying expert on complex litigation matters.
- Advise clients on technical risk, regulatory strategy, and remediation approaches associated with redevelopment, transactions, or long‑term liability management.
- Interface with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to support permitting, compliance, and closure strategies.
- Provide senior technical review of reports, designs, and modeling analyses to ensure defensibility and technical rigor.
- Mentor senior and mid‑level staff and contribute to the development of technical standards, best practices, and thought leadership.
- Contribute to business development through proposal support, technical scoping, and strengthening long‑term client relationships.
Candidates should have an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental chemistry or a related field.
Ideal Candidate- Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer license
- 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting
- Proven leadership on investigation/remediation projects as a strategic advisor to clients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
