Position: Motor Vehicle Title Clerk Bilingual (Spanish)

three (3)
Motor Vehicle Title Clerk Bilingual (Spanish) positions available within the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder Department. The Motor Vehicle division handles titling and registering all vehicles, issuing disability placards, and serves the community across Boulder, Longmont, and Lafayette.

These full‑time, benefits‑eligible roles operate Monday‑Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Locations: 1750 33rd St, Boulder, CO 80301; 1755 S Public Rd, Lafayette, CO 80021; 515 Coffman St, Longmont, CO. The positions are non‑exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range: $52,008.00 – $57,150.00 Annually

Tentative Hiring Timeline
  • Phone Screening:
    February 9th

    March 19th
  • Reference Check:
    March 12th

New employees receive 80‑hour bank vacation at hire, plus 8 hours of vacation and medical leave accrual each month. Boulder County also offers pension contributions and may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Visit student aid.gov for details.

Responsibilities
  • Research, understand, and comply with Department of Revenue legislation, DRIVES (Motor Vehicle System) rules, and Clerk and Recorder policies.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the DRIVES (MV) system.
  • Ensure confidentiality of public member information.
  • Comply with cybersecurity requirements, training, and procedures.
  • Guarantee accuracy and compliance of MV transactions.
  • Confirm and clarify public needs via in‑person, email, or phone interactions.
  • Research and stay current on state statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Exhibit skillful public relations with the public.
  • Complete VIN inspections following safety guidelines in designated spots.
  • Provide feedback and ideas for service improvement, accessibility, equity, and inclusion.
  • Log and track all documents entering or exiting the office on the designated tracking log.
  • Contribute to updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications

Education & Experience: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of office experience (e.g., retail, restaurants, banking).

  • Additional related education may count toward required experience.

Background Check: Job offer contingent upon passing a background investigation.

Bilingual Skills
  • Demonstrate fluency in Spanish at the time of pre‑employment screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data entry skills
  • MS Office proficiency, including Outlook, Word, and Teams
