Our dynamic and community-centered organization is looking to add an empathetic, conscientious, and resourceful Camper Care Specialist.
- Serve on the Camp Leadership team along with the Camp Director, Assistant Director, Program Coordinator, and Camper Care Specialist Team.
- Oversee all bunks and assist counselors in day to day life at camp
- Collaborate with Camper Care Specialist Team
- Partner with counselors to help them understand age-appropriate behavior, programming, and effective behavior management strategies of young children
- Partner with counselors to meet the individual needs of all campers- especially those who struggle to adjust to the camp community
- Observe campers in activities to better understand behaviors and social dynamics in order to support counselors as they navigate and accommodate camper needs
- Maintain adequate documentation of Camper Care Team interventions with campers and staff
- Communicate with camper parents via email or phone
- Conduct camper intake calls prior to campers joining us for the summer.
- Provide additional age-appropriate programming for bunks
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for campers, abiding by all camp rules and policies. Assist any camper with empathy and patience.
- This role is in-person, seasonal, and full time during the camp season, May 11 - August 7, 2026.
- Camp is operated outdoors unless weather prohibits it. Working conditions include spending full days under the sun in all temperatures.
- The Camper Care Specialist will also have an indoor designated space for phone calls and computer work.
- Must be over the age of 18.
- Educational or field experience in social work, psychology, special education, or child development
- Able to problem solve and manage difficult behaviors
- Strong oral and communication skills: must be able to communicate efficiently with staff and parents, as well as maintain proper documentation
- Experience or willingness to work with children (ages 4-12)
- Has the ability to think and act creatively, be flexible, demonstrate pride of work, and is caring about the individuals they serve.
While performing regular duties, you will be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, or kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While this role is primarily seasonal, from May - August, there is opportunity for a limited number of staff to extend beyond seasonal capacity.
CompensationGeneral:
This is a non-exempt hourly position with a salary range of $17.50-$19/hour commensurate with experience. This is a 40-hour a week position May-August. The benefits for seasonal and temporary employees currently include a 403b retirement plan with generous company match, sick leave and more.
The anticipated closing of this position is May 4, 2026.
