STATEMENT OF DUTIESSummary of Job Classification:
Provides entry level case processing assistance and customer service via counter, telephone, and electronic means. Creates new cases, processes pleadings, accepts payments, and related work. Serves in a training capacity in all areas of more advanced responsibilities.
This position is part of a progressive job series and placement in the series will be determined based on minimum qualifications and the relevant experience of the successful applicant. There are three requisitions posted: Judicial Clerk I, Judicial Clerk II, and Judicial Clerk III. We will fill one position within this series based on the district's hiring needs and the qualifications and relevant experience of the selected applicant.

Salary consideration will be based on the online application and applicants are encouraged to include all relevant information on their application. This position will support the District Court and will work in‑person 8 hours per week during the hours of 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Candidates will complete a typing test prior to interview, and a typing speed of at least 40 WPM is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. - Assists customers with paperwork, answers questions, reviews court forms for completeness, and assigns case numbers.
- Receives and processes incoming correspondence via email, mail, e‑filing, and in‑person filings, and distribution.
- Directs customers to appropriate services such as legal clinics, self‑help information and specialists, Supreme Court and local libraries, the bar association, or family court facilitators.
- Maintains case documentation and updates case management system, including adding case information and documentation to case management system, updating case information, updating contact information, processing bond forfeitures, and entering transcript requests. Adheres to data integrity and timelines per applicable laws and regulations.
- Transfers information from law enforcement tickets or information filed into the case management system.
