Job Summary b>
The Records Fingerprint Law Enforcement Technician performs a variety of complex and specialized tasks unique to the Support Services Division and provides technical support work requiring a thorough knowledge of departmental operations, administrative procedures, and a considerable degree of independent judgment. The Fingerprint/Scanning Tech’s primary duties are assisting with public and internal fingerprinting of individuals; scanning of paperwork into our document storage system and quality control;
dealing with information of a confidential and/or unpleasant nature, referencing crimes and person arrested; providing coverage and support to other Support Services Division Law Enforcement Technicians as needed.
Hours may vary within our hours of operation:
Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm hours.

High school education or equivalent, and two years of office or general support experience. Must be able to successfully pass a polygraph and drug screen.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to work and make decisions independently with minimal supervision. Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner. Possess good written and verbal communications skills. Possess good spelling and grammar skills. Possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, supervisors, representatives of cooperating agencies, and the general public. Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as Microsoft Word.
PhysicalDemands and Requirements
1. Vision - Dual vision is not required. Single eye correctable vision is acceptable. Minimum peripheral vision for single vision is 90 degrees on the ear side and 70 degrees on the nose side. Frequently uses vision to read computer monitors, applications, reports, and files, and to observe multiple persons and activity.
2. Hearing - Dual hearing is not required. When tested by use of an audiometric device, does not have an average hearing loss in the better ear greater than 40 decibels at 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without a hearing aid when the audiometric device is calibrated to American National Standard. Constantly must be able to hear telephone conversations, conversations with applicants, professionals and employees.
