Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Swim Instructor to teach participants of all ages swimming techniques, skills, and water safety. The instructor will work closely with the Aquatics Supervisor to maintain a safe and engaging environment for all guests.
Responsibilities- Effectively teach swimming skills and safety to children and adults.
- Interact with every child in class.
- Monitor class participation.
- Maintain a safe atmosphere.
- Convey an enthusiastic, positive, and professional attitude.
- Assist in cleaning up the pool area after lessons.
- Enforce pool rules, policies, and health code regulations.
- Wear appropriate swim attire while instructing.
- Schedule lessons according to the pool schedule.
- Ensure safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to by participants; report accidents and prepare accident reports as required.
- Record weekly lessons in Mind Body scheduler at the end of the week.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (preferred).
- CPR/AED certification.
- Minimum one year of swim instructor experience.
- Knowledge & ability of all four competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) and elementary backstroke/sidestroke.
- Ability to work with adults and children ages 6 months to 70 years.
- Strong communication skills.
- Professional and outgoing demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and work with a diverse group of people.
Work is performed in a fast‑paced health club environment.
