About the role
As a Service Manager, you will make an impact by ensuring reliable application performance, managing production support activities, and contributing hands‑on as a full‑stack engineer. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and collaborate closely with technical leads, support engineers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to maintain and enhance critical systems.

In this role, you will:- Lead and support production environments, ensuring system stability and timely issue resolution.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications leveraging full‑stack technologies including Java, MySQL, and web‑based components.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across backend, frontend, and database layers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement enhancements, optimize performance, and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and support continuous improvement initiatives within the support landscape.
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related field.
- Strong hands‑on experience as a full‑stack engineer using Java, MySQL, HTML, Visual Basic, JavaScript, XML, JCL, Java Batch, JUnit, C#, and C++.
- Proven experience working in production support environments.
- Proficiency with enterprise Java technologies, including JEE, Spring, Hibernate, REST services, JSF, JSP, Prime Faces / Ice Faces, JDBC, and relational databases (DB2, Oracle).
- Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues across multiple layers of a technology stack.
- Experience designing scalable architectures in production‑critical environments.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced, globally distributed teams.
- Strong analytical skills with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
- Knowledge of performance tuning for backend and database systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks.

The annual salary for this position is between $63,000 – $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
