Job Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Boston, MA. This role requires deep Java and Spark proficiency to design and maintain high‑performance ETL pipelines on Databricks.
Rate RangeRate Range: $53/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Java and Apache Spark on the Databricks platform.
- Optimize and troubleshoot Spark jobs to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency in large distributed systems.
- Integrate Databricks workflows with AWS/Azure cloud services, including IAM, storage, networking, and compute resources.
- Develop automation and CI/CD pipelines using Java APIs, Terraform, and Dev Ops tools such as Git Hub Actions or Azure Dev Ops.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and business teams to gather requirements and support production data and ML environments.
- Ensure strong data governance by implementing RBAC, encryption, compliance controls, and managing assets via Unity Catalog and Delta Lake.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with at least 3+ years working with Java and Apache Spark.
- Proven hands‑on experience with Databricks, including workspace management, clusters, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services, particularly IAM, storage, networking, and integration with Databricks.

Pay Details$53.00 to $60.00 per hour.
