Overview
Our client is looking for a Word Press Developer (Headless Architecture) to join their team. This is a 30–32 hours/week assignment running approximately 8–12 weeks, fully remote, for US based candidates.
Responsibilities- Lead development and optimization of a headless Word Press architecture integrated with Next.js, ensuring scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Configure and optimize Word Press Graph
QL endpoints, structuring schemas to support dynamic, component-driven frontend experiences. - Design and implement Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) structures, exposing clean and intuitive data models via Graph
QL for seamless frontend consumption. - Create and manage Custom Post Types, taxonomies, and backend configurations to support flexible, scalable content workflows.
- Develop performant, reusable frontend components in Next.js, translating design and UX requirements into modular, production-ready code.
- Collaborate within a Git-based development workflow, contributing to code reviews, version control best practices, and structured deployment processes.
- Support staging and production deployments, with familiarity in platforms such as Pantheon and Vercel considered a strong advantage.
- Proven experience building and maintaining headless Word Press environments integrated with modern frontend frameworks such as Next.js.
- Strong proficiency in Word Press Graph
QL, ACF configuration, and custom schema design. - Advanced frontend development skills in React/Next.js, with a focus on performance optimization and component architecture.
- Comfortable working in collaborative Git-based workflows and delivering clean, well-documented, maintainable code within iterative project cycles.
The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $85.00–$95.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
