IoT Solutions Architecture Manager (Americas only)

Join Canonical in partnering with customers to build secure connected‑device solutions. This remote role manages a regional team of field engineers across presales and professional services, delivering solution architecture, design, and support for IoT deployments.

Remote – based in the Americas, EMEA, or APAC.

• Lead and develop a team of field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior.
• Act as a trusted advisor, solving customer problems and promoting Canonical’s technologies.
• Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback.
• Measure team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
• Represent the team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
• Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects.
• Collaborate with other leaders as an active member of the leadership team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Extensive embedded Linux experience (Yocto or equivalent).
• Strong Linux background (Debian/Ubuntu preferred).
• Proficiency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
• Experience managing a small team and with customer engagements.
• Professional written and spoken English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
• Result‑oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
• Ability to communicate business benefits of technology.
• Humble learner and quick study.
• Additional desirable traits include RTOS experience and experience in a remote‑first distributed company.
