- Implement, port, and optimize low‑power wireless protocols (802.11, HaLow, Thread) and TCP/IP to meet embedded constraints.
- Conduct in‑depth performance analysis, identify bottlenecks, and propose innovative optimization solutions.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of intermittent networking issues using advanced debugging techniques and tools.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on RF performance, driver integration, and firmware troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with application software developers to ensure seamless integration of network services.
- Define and help develop comprehensive test plans for wireless components, working with QA and automation teams.
- Stay current with advances in wireless technologies, networking protocols, and embedded systems.
- Travel to Asian manufacturing partners 1–3 times per year as needed.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of embedded firmware development with a strong focus on wireless networking.
- Expert‑level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Deep understanding of the entire TCP/IP stack (Layers 2‑7), including Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, and Thread.
- Extensive experience with Wi‑Fi (802.11) protocols, MAC layer operations, roaming, power‑saving modes, and coexistence.
- Hands‑on experience with embedded operating systems such as FreeRTOS and Linux.
- Experience with microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex‑M/R) and their peripherals.
- Proven ability to optimize embedded networking stacks for throughput, latency, power, and memory footprint.
- Strong understanding of network security concepts, certificates, firewalls, and packet filtering.
- Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Communications Analyzer, traffic generators, network throttling, and wireless impairment test setups.
- Experience with Matter/Thread networking.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS IoT) and connectivity requirements.
- Customer Obsessed – building deep empathy for our customers.
