Why Children’s Services of Roxbury?

Children’s Services of Roxbury (CSR) is one of Massachusetts’ largest Black‑owned and operated non‑profit organizations. This year is our 50‑year anniversary and we need you to help us continue our mission to provide high quality services to economically disadvantaged children, youth, families, and individuals thus promoting and strengthening family life and individual growth. CSR’s mission is to bring peace of mind to families across Massachusetts, providing housing for homeless families, culturally attuned behavioral health services, foster care for abused and neglected children, affordable childcare for homeless children, and youth development programs.

CSR works with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to provide direct services and support to Parents/Guardians and their children. CSR provides immediate concrete services, which include support in parenting, family medical, mental health and community access supports, educational/vocational career assistance, as well as supports with legal issues: domestic violence, probation obligations, court ordered CRA issues and follow‑through.

• Weekly home visits with families, at times after 5pm. Meeting and connecting with each parent where they are.
• Weekly collaboration with collaterals (DCF, Service providers, etc.).
• Response to emergencies such as Child Crises, Hospitalizations, Emergency Meetings, School Meetings, etc. when necessary.
• DCF Case Conference participation.
• Professional representation and work ethic always.
• Appropriate attitude and team spirit in the office and in the community.
• Appropriate boundaries in relationships external to CSR (Parents, children, DCF providers).
• Maintaining case management files.
• Referral information with DCF contacts received with Parent/Guardian and child, goals to be achieved.
• Credible System:
  Weekly written narratives of home visits over the period of contract. Written documentation of calls/contacts by telephone (daily/weekly).
• Produce Monthly Reports.
• Virtual Gateway System:
  Completion and implementation of Treatment Plans (each 3‑month period) with appropriate activities against the goals identified by DCF, Complete Progress Review (each 3 month period).

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related Human Services field required. Master’s level preferred.
• Bilingual capacity required (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole).
• Valid driver’s license and properly insured vehicle.
• Clearance of background checks as required by state and federal law.
• At least 1-year experience providing case management and/or counseling services to children, adolescents, and families.

• Salary: $60,000 annually.
