HVAC Mechanic - 1st Shift; Sun-Thu

HVAC Mechanic - 1st Shift (Sun-Thu 7am-3pm)

Full onsite Sunday-Thursday from 7am-3pm. Eligible for Weekend Shift Differential. Install, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems in a health facility setting.

• Preventative maintenance, plant operations, repairs and minor modifications to:
  • Air handling units and fixed fans
  • Ductwork
  • Reheat coils and boxes
  • AC compressor chiller systems
  • Water coolers
  • Associated control end devices
  • Steam systems
• Coordinate with all trades such as electrical and plumbing to keep all systems operating at highest reliability
• Implement energy conservation techniques on HVAC systems
• Make periodic rounds to all building support equipment and maintain an operating log of conditions observed
• Maintain records of work done, time records, and P/M records through CMMS system
• May be required to be on call
• Provide the highest level of personal protection at all times
• Monitor, respond and acknowledge alarms on the BAS system
• Other duties as assigned

• Mechanical knowledge of occupational machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety on the job for the protection of people, data, property, and the institution
• The ability to arrange tasks according to specific rules, procedures, or guidelines
• Proficient manual dexterity to utilize tools of the trade
• Strong communication, listening, and comprehension skills to work collaboratively with others
• "Self‑starter" with high degree of initiative

• High school or trade school graduate preferred
• MA refrigeration technician license
• EPA RECLAIM type I, II license required

• MA refrigeration technician license
• EPA RECLAIM type I, II license required

No direct supervisory responsibilities. Indirect supervision only.

May have direct and indirect patient contact.

Pay Transparency Statement

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity and the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

You can expect a pay range of $52.75 – $55.53 per hour.
