Supervises: Department Team

The Lead of Dairy Department oversees daily operations of the dairy section, focusing on ordering, inventory management, stocking, scheduling assistance, maintaining logs, and ensuring cleanliness and safety. This role supports the Dairy/Frozen Manager and ensures smooth, efficient department performance.

• Ordering & Inventory Management:
  Prioritize ordering, manage inventory levels, and maintain stocked shelves.
• Product Quality:
  Ensure all dairy products are fresh, properly stored, and well-displayed. Remove expired items.
• Scheduling Assistance:
  Support creation and maintenance of staff schedules.
• Log Maintenance:
  Maintain receiving logs and necessary department documentation.
• Customer Service:
  Greet customers, provide courteous service, and handle special orders.
• Merchandising:
  Ensure shelves are stocked, signed, and attractively displayed.
• Safety & Cleanliness:
  Maintain safety, sanitation, and compliance standards.
• Product Rotation:
  Rotate all products according to policy and remove out-of-code merchandise.
• Equipment Check:
  Ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.

• Maintain freshness, accuracy, and proper handling of dairy products.
• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively.
• Complete logs, reports, and inventory documentation accurately.
• Uphold merchandising, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Support team productivity and harmonious department operations.

• Previous supermarket experience, preferably in dairy or frozen foods.
• Experience with ordering and inventory management.
• Familiarity with dairy product handling requirements.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to complete departmental reports accurately.
• Basic math skills for margins, percentages, and discounts.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English.

• Ability to lift heavy objects occasionally.
• Ability to climb ladders to retrieve items.
• Perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal.
• Respond quickly to spills or breakages.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen storage environments.
• Tolerate dust and chemical cleaning fumes.
