Job Summary
Responsible for assisting in preparing and cooking food items in specific sections or stations within the kitchen.
Essential Functions- Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Assist at a specific station or section within the kitchen, such as grill, sauté, pantry, or pastry.
- Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, such as grilling, frying, baking, roasting, and sautéing, to prepare dishes.
- Assist in the execution of menu items, ensuring that dishes are prepared accurately, consistently, and with attention to detail.
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and hygienic working environment.
- Keep workstations, equipment, and utensils clean, organized, and sanitized.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma in Culinary Arts preferred. - Experience in lieu of a degree is accepted.
- 1-2 years of Line Cook or related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, knife skills, seasoning, and flavor profiles.
- Understanding of food safety principles, proper food handling, storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently, manage time effectively, and handle high‑pressure situations.
- Good communication skills for a team‑oriented kitchen environment.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and operate kitchen equipment.
- Adaptability to changing circumstances and problem‑solving on the spot.
