The Computational Associate will participate in data analysis for two ambitious multi-omic research projects focused on emerging cardiovascular risk factors. This role is ideal for post-Masters students looking to gain hands‑on research experience, build their publication record, and explore research opportunities before applying to PhD programs. Dr. Honigberg has a robust publication record and is committed to providing comprehensive training, guidance in research and writing, and opportunities for collaboration and presenting research work.

Principal

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform genetic and multi-omic analysis
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard
  • Participate in scientific writing and contribute to publications
  • Present research findings at internal and external meetings
  • Make proficient intellectual contributions to scientific strategies of the lab and play a leadership role by acting as subject matter expert
  • Contribute to the design and execution of experiments and/or research projects
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods and technologies to obtain results
Qualifications
  • Experience analyzing genetic and genomic data, such as genome-wide association studies (GWAS) or rare variant analysis (Preferred but not required)
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., R, Python)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
  • Self‑motivated and driven to contribute to scientific research
Education

Master's degree in genetic epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, or a related field. Bachelor's degree with relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience

Previous research experience (inclusive of graduate experience) preferred.
