Research Assistant position in the Chang Lab Division of Immunology, Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
The Chang Lab conducts basic and translational research investigating tissue-specific mediators of chronic autoimmune diseases and flares, with a focus on synovial resident memory T cells in arthritis and drivers of subclinical uveitis. We combine human and mouse immunology with cutting-edge approaches in transcriptomics, immunology, molecular biology, and gene editing on human patient samples, human tissue organoid models, and mouse models of autoimmune diseases.
We are seeking a research assistant to join our team. This position is looking for a preferred two-year time commitment as well as someone who is okay with flexible working hours during weekdays AND weekends as needed.
- Assist with consent, collection, and processing of patient samples and medical record review.
- Organization and maintenance of patient sample biorepositories.
- Lab maintenance, i.e., ordering supplies, general upkeep, etc.
- Tissue culture, cellular and molecular immunology assays, microscopy, etc.
- Animal husbandry and colony maintenance.
- A Bachelor's Degree in STEM is required with a focus on Biology/Molecular Biology or Immunology.
- Past research experience in tissue culture, cellular and molecular immunology, and/or mouse work, preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, organization, time management, and record-keeping skills are a must.
