. The Department of Neuroscience focuses on synaptic biology and glia biology. Dr. Dulla’s lab studies how synapses form and remodel during development, with a focus on neurological disease and epilepsy. We use mouse models and electrophysiological, imaging, behavioral, and in vivo electrophysiology approaches.
Project
Summary:
Tuberculosis (TB) of the brain, or CNS‑TB, is the most severe form of TB and is often fatal. We aim to understand how the bacteria that cause TB affect brain cells and immune responses. Using cutting‑edge single-cell RNA sequencing, we study human and mouse brain tissues to identify how the disease starts, progresses, and leads to different outcomes. We aim to discover new treatment strategies and build research capacity in Africa through training and collaboration.
We seek a postdoctoral researcher with experience in bioinformatics and single-cell data analysis. Job responsibilities include data analysis and visualization, molecular biology, mouse work, and more:
- Data analysis and visualization
- Molecular biology
- Mouse husbandry
- Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through a doctorate in a field related to neuroscience
- One to three years of postdoctoral experience is preferred
- A record of published scientific research, complex data analysis skills, advanced methodological skills, scientific writing, and scientific presentations are ideal
- Knowledge of neuroscience
- Experience with handling rodents
- Previous laboratory experience and familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
- Experience with confocal microscopy
Minimum $65,000.00, Midpoint $65,000.00, Maximum $65,000.00
