Title: Entry-Level Lab Scientist - Immunology
Duration: 12 months Contract
Location: Boston, MA
Position Summary The Entry-Level Lab Scientist will join the Immunology team and support experimental workflows focused on immune cell isolation, culture, differentiation, and functional characterization. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about cellular immunology who are eager to develop hands-on experience with advanced laboratory techniques in a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities Immune Cell Isolation- Isolate immune cells including PBMCs, T cells, NK cells, and monocytes from whole blood using immunomagnetic separation or density gradient methods
- Maintain and culture primary immune cells under sterile, aseptic conditions
- Differentiate monocytes into macrophages or dendritic cells as required
- Prepare samples for flow cytometry, including staining panels for immune surface and intracellular markers
- Operate flow cytometers and analyze data to assess cell phenotype, viability, and activation status
- Set up immune cell-based functional assays such as NK cell cytotoxicity and T-cell killing assays
- Document experimental observations, interpret results, and maintain accurate laboratory records
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and good tissue culture practices
- Ensure compliance with biosafety requirements and company policies
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
- Basic laboratory skills and familiarity with aseptic techniques
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new laboratory protocols
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with immune cell isolation techniques and flow cytometry
- Exposure to immune cell-based assays or cytotoxicity testing
- Knowledge of data analysis tools used for flow cytometry
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
