The Analytical Chemist will join Vertex’s growing Technical Operations Analytical team and has the primary responsibility to provide analytical support for Oligonucleotides and Peptides in late-stage phase.
Key Responsibilities- Primary responsibility to provide analytical support for Oligonucleotide and Peptide-Oligonucleotide conjugated compounds
- Development and optimization of robust LC/MS, IPRP and SAX HPLC analytical methods for analysis and purification of highly modified oligonucleotide drug substances
- Experience with IP‑RP‑HPLC, AX‑HPLC, UPLC, LC‑MS, LC‑MS/MS analytical techniques using Agilent, Waters and/or Thermo’s and associated software
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments
- In depth knowledge of GLP/GMP’s in a pharmaceutical environment
- Must possess excellent writing and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and with cross‑functional teams
- MS or BS with 5+ years of industrial experience
- Strong background in analytical development and validation of methods for analysis of oligonucleotide therapeutics
- Strong knowledge of mass spectrometry and purification techniques
- Knowledge in RP‑HPLC, SAX‑HPLC, UPLC, LC‑MS is preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMP’s
- Must be a committed team player and collaborator
12 month with a chance to extend.
Pay Range$65/hr.
- $75/hr.

The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, location and/or being pursued and other job‑related factors permitted by law. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
