Position DescriptionWe invite applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Weingarten lab at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. The laboratory works at the intersection of virology, synthetic biology, immunology, and bioinformatics to bioengineer high‑throughput methods that illuminate biological processes in hundreds of human pathogenic viruses. Through this systematic view, we seek to answer fundamental questions in virology:
What is the true coding capacity of viral genomes? How do viruses propagate so effectively while escaping immune detection? And how do viruses adapt their genomes to replicate in highly distinct environments?
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Weingarten Gabbay to develop a research project within the scope of the lab focus. In addition to carrying out research, the candidate will be expected to apply for fellowship funding, contribute to grant and manuscript writing, participate in teaching and mentoring lab members, and contribute to overall lab operations in a collaborative environment.
