Job SummaryThe Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) within Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is recruiting a Biostatistician I to serve as a protocol statistician. The primary focus will be on studies undertaken by ACTG and IMPAACT, collaborating with medical researchers in the design, implementation, analysis, and publication of national and international clinical trials and observational studies of HIV and other infectious diseases.
Responsibilities- Conduct ongoing and final data analyses using specialized statistical techniques and programming.
- Review study methodology, parameters, and protocol documents, recommending revisions to ensure conformance with accepted statistical principles.
- Develop stratification and randomization materials in compliance with study design.
- Provide statistical input and advice to network subcommittees and collaborative research teams.
- Oversee development of data collection forms and proposed data management methods to ensure data quality and validity.
- Ensure integrity of data collection, review, and analysis by monitoring protocols and procedures.
- Identify potential scientific or administrative problems, suggest and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc data status reports and collaborate on manuscripts, abstracts, and other publications.
- Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- Understanding of clinical trials or statistical consulting experience.
- Experience with statistical software such as SAS or Stata.
- Experience analyzing clinical or biological data, including failure time and categorical data.
- Experience working within a collaborative research team.
- Advanced computer skills with major statistical computing packages (SAS, Stata, R, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
