Overview

Come join the oldest family-owned private veterinary hospital group in America! Callanan Veterinary Group was founded in Brighton, MA in 1926. Our practice group includes four hospitals in the metropolitan Boston area and one hospital in Warwick, RI. Positions are available at any of our five main hospitals.

Role and responsibilities

Senior Clinical Veterinarian, SCUBA Diver, and Safe Streets Advocate. Provide high-quality medical care across general medicine and surgery, collaborate with a team of clinicians, and participate in community medicine opportunities at the Merwin Memorial Clinic in Allston, MA. Support a positive, collaborative environment for doctors and support staff. Travel to our affiliated hospitals for rotating scheduling when needed.

Full-time and part-time scheduling is available. Full-time schedule comprises four (4) ten-hour shifts per week with rotating weekend duties. Shifts are generally 8 am – 6 pm, with flexible hours considered when necessary. No after-hours, overnight, or on-call responsibilities are required for this role.

Early career veterinarians receive a guaranteed base salary and 1:1 mentorship time with our Medical Director; experienced veterinarians are typically paid a guaranteed base with a production bonus, when applicable. Specific pay rates/production percentages are negotiable on an individual basis according to the applicant’s desires and skill set.

Compensation and benefits

Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr

Benefits include continuing education, full medical insurance, license reimbursement, 401(k), and flexible scheduling. State-specific veterinary license in good standing is required.

Qualifications

DVM/VMD or equivalent degree and state-specific veterinary license in good standing. Strong client communication skills and a positive attitude are essential. Successful applicants will have a strong desire to learn and contribute to a team-focused practice.
